EMPOWER - PROTECT - STAY SAFE
Preventive Security Awareness and Personal Defense Program for Women
Why this program is needed:
We now live in an electronic age where almost anything we need, want or desire is literally atour fingertips. Computers, Internet, cell phones, and AI are extremely useful and can bring seemingly unlimited resources, knowledge, and prosperity. Has the cell phone forever changed our lives for better, for worse, or both? We depend on them to manage almost every aspect of our lives, and, it is argued, we’re losing our ability to think for ourselves.
Everything Holds its Opposite This universal law says that the reason you know something exists, is because of its opposite. In public spaces, almost every adult, teenager or child is either carrying, looking at or talking on a personal phone. Because of cell phone use, ‘distracted driving’ is now a civil infraction ticket issued by law enforcement officers.
Outer Awareness Reduced Even more dangerous is that our highly impressionable young are becoming followers, mindlessly tuning out of their actual location for an online space. Cell phone addiction dulls our senses, reducing awareness of our ever-changing environment.
Personal Safety and Defense The police cannot be everywhere at all times. Neighborhood watch programs are effective, but still have their limitations. We are ultimately responsible for our own personal safety and defense. Avoiding potentially dangerous situations and surviving a physical assault is a learned skill for each one of us. Violence is prevalent, and we can expect it will touch us in some form or fashion. This preventative security awareness and self- defense program for Women is your first step to assume responsibility for your own personal safety.
Objectives:
The program is designed to show women, from all walks of life, how to reduce the probability of becoming a victim of a violent crime.
